Some days ago, fans celebrated the birthday of two American music giants. Those two men personify the perpetual move of the musician on the road. Merle Haggard through his signature song « Lonesome Fugitive » wrote one more song for the American songbook about the destiny of a rambler on a dusty path with no end. Muddy Waters took that path from the muddy Mississippi to the industrial Chicago looking for recognition. Beside celebrating those two classy hoboes we are rambling in this episode with Dale Watson, Hillbilly Casino, honky tonk girls like Brigitte London and musicians like Johnny Winter who offered Muddy Waters a fat but stripped-down production for the last albums of the big bluesman. As Robert Stevenson once wrote : « to travel hopefully is a better thing than to arrive ».
